Search committee announces Dusty Porter as new Vice President of Student Affairs

The search committee has selected J. Davidson “Dusty” Porter as the new vice president of student affairs. He currently serves as vice president of student affairs and dean of students at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.
 
Porter has worked at MICA for 11 years and became the vice president of student affairs in 2006. He is responsible for 45 professional staff members and a $15 million budget, according to his LinkedIn page.
 
Porter is replacing interim vice president for student affairs Tom Stafford. Stafford was named as interim vice president in Oct. 2013.
 
Keeling and Associates, a higher education consulting firm based out of New York City, led the search for a new VPSA.
